"A phone converts voice, pictures, video, and text into data. The microphone captures sound, and the camera captures light. Software encodes and compresses the information. The data are divided into packets and sent through radio links, base stations, local networks, routers, cables, servers, or other communication equipment. The receiving device reassembles and decodes the data, then uses its speaker and display. Distance, congestion, missing packets, and processing can create delay or reduced quality. Caller identity and recordings can be misleading, so young children call only with caregiver supervision. A phone converts communication into data, sends it through networks, and rebuilds it at another device." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use fictional contacts and generic network equipment. Avoid live calls, telephone-number fields, celebrity faces, secret communication, or brand-specific network claims.
