"An exoplanet is a planet beyond our solar system. Scientists often find one by measuring a repeated dip when it crosses its star, or by detecting the star's small gravitational wobble. Other methods include direct imaging, microlensing, and precise position measurements. A possible signal begins as a candidate and requires careful checking. Scientists estimate a planet's size, mass, density, orbit, temperature, atmosphere, and star environment. The habitable zone is a region where surface liquid water might be possible under suitable conditions; it does not mean life is present. A possible biosignature must be checked against non-living explanations and supported by several lines of evidence. No life beyond Earth has been confirmed. Exoplanets are real distant worlds, but evidence for life requires careful, repeated, converging observations." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Identify every close exoplanet view as an artist concept unless it is a true direct image. Avoid alien characters as fact, inhabited-habitable equivalence, sensational discovery language, or one-gas proof of life.
