The spoken lesson
"Fruits are foods that grow on plants. Fruits come in many colors, shapes, smells, tastes, and textures. A banana is soft. A mango may be juicy. A pear can become soft when ripe. An orange has sections inside its peel. Some fruits have seeds, pits, or skins that a caregiver must remove or prepare safely. Fruits are washed and cut, cooked, mashed, or softened for the child's eating ability. We sit while eating and the caregiver watches closely. Fruits are colorful foods that grow on plants." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use realistic global fruits and accurate preparation. Do not use candy-like fruit characters, commercial packaging, nutrition scoring, forced-tasting games, or exaggerated health claims.
