"Temperature describes how hot or cold a system is. Heat is energy transferred because two systems have different temperatures. Thermal energy moves from the warmer system toward the cooler one. Conduction transfers energy through direct contact. Convection moves energy through flowing liquids or gases. Radiation carries energy through electromagnetic waves, allowing the Sun to warm Earth across space. Insulation slows thermal transfer. Metal may feel colder than wood at the same room temperature because it transfers energy from the hand faster. Never test a hot surface by touch. Temperature describes thermal state; heat is energy moving because temperatures differ." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use sealed comfortably warm and cool materials only. Avoid boiling, open flames, dangerous steam, colour-only heat indicators, or child touch-testing.
