Lesson 050 of 300
Learn that different dishes hold different kinds of food and should remain on a stable surface.
Help the child distinguish a flatter plate from a deeper bowl and understand that both hold food during meals.
"A plate and a bowl are dishes that hold food. A plate is usually flatter. It can hold soft pieces of food. A bowl is deeper. It can hold porridge, mashed food, or other foods that may spread. The caregiver places the plate or bowl on a stable table and checks that the food is safe and not too hot. Dishes stay on the table while we eat. We do not throw or bang them. Plate is flatter. Bowl is deeper. Both help keep food together during a meal." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use realistic food and plain dishes. Avoid food rewards, empty-plate praise, eating competition, or breakage effects.
Pause, point, name what you notice, and connect the idea to something familiar in your child's day. Repetition, a calm voice, shared attention and dependable care matter more than finishing quickly.
