Help the child understand that privacy concerns appropriate boundaries and control over access to the body, space, communication, activities, choices, and information. Personal information is information relating to or capable of identifying a person.
"Privacy means appropriate boundaries and protection around your body, space, communications, activities, choices, and information. Personal information includes a name, face, voice, address, location, school, contact details, family details, device information, and other information connected to a person. Medical, biometric, financial, password, and private-photo information may be especially sensitive. Before sharing, ask who wants the information, why it is needed, how it will be used, and who else may receive it. Healthy privacy is different from an unsafe secret that hides harm. Privacy means appropriate boundaries, limited access, clear purpose, and responsible protection." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use fictional symbols and no personal examples. Avoid privacy fear, secret-keeping games, long legal text, or suggesting that a child can meaningfully consent to complex tracking.
Pause, point, name what you notice, and connect the idea to something familiar in your child's day. Repetition, a calm voice, shared attention and dependable care matter more than finishing quickly.
