What Are Rooms?

"A room is a part of a home. Different rooms or areas may be used for different activities. People sleep in a sleeping area. Adults prepare food in a kitchen or cooking area. People wash in a bathroom or washing area. Families may eat, talk, and spend time together in another space. Children may play in a safe open area. Some homes have many separate rooms. Some homes use one room for several activities. Caregiver, walk through the home and name each familiar area and what people do there." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use realistic rooms and avoid architectural complexity. Include one main idea per card. Do not reward the child for identifying room types correctly or imply that a home is incomplete without separate rooms.
