What your child will discover
Help the baby identify the nose and understand that it supports breathing and smelling. Use familiar, safe smells. Clearly warn caregivers never to invite a child to smell cleaners, fuel, smoke, medicine, unknown plants, powders, or concentrated fragrances.

The spoken lesson
"Where is your nose? Your nose is in the middle of your face. Your nose helps air move in and out while you breathe. Your nose also helps you notice smells. An orange has a fresh smell. A flower may have a gentle smell. Clean clothes and freshly prepared food can smell different too. We only smell safe things chosen by a caregiver. We never smell cleaners, smoke, fuel, medicine, or unknown substances. Caregiver, point to your nose. Now gently point to the child's nose. Breathe normally. Your nose helps you breathe and discover safe smells." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Keep the breathing animation slow and optional. Do not imitate medical breathing exercises. Use clean visuals, large labels, and no scent-based correctness test.

Make it real
Pause, point, name what you notice, and connect the idea to something familiar in your child's day. Repetition, a calm voice, shared attention and dependable care matter more than finishing quickly.
