Help the baby recognize diaper changing as a normal care routine that removes urine or stool, cleans and dries the skin, provides a fresh diaper, and supports comfort and hygiene.
"A diaper or nappy helps keep urine and stool away from clothing. When the diaper becomes wet or dirty, a caregiver changes it. First, the caregiver prepares everything and stays beside the baby. The used diaper is removed. The skin is cleaned gently, dried, and covered with a fresh diaper. The caregiver speaks calmly and protects the baby's privacy. Urine and stool are normal body waste. They are not shameful. After the change, the caregiver disposes of the waste safely and washes their hands. A clean, dry diaper helps the baby feel comfortable." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use modest, non-graphic illustrations. Do not include diaper-brand promotions, purchase links, rash diagnosis, waste humor, or shame-based language.
Pause, point, name what you notice, and connect the idea to something familiar in your child's day. Repetition, a calm voice, shared attention and dependable care matter more than finishing quickly.
