The spoken lesson

"A bedroom or sleeping area is mainly used for sleep and quiet rest. It may also be a place for dressing, storing clothes, and sharing a calm book. Before sleep, active toys return to their places and the family completes its bedtime routine. Bedroom furniture is never for climbing. Dressers, shelves, wardrobes, and televisions must be stable and secured by adults. Cords, small objects, medicines, and plastic bags stay away. Toys and shoes leave a clear walking path. The bedroom is for sleep, rest, dressing, and quiet care." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use ordinary sleeping spaces rather than luxury rooms. Avoid prescribing one bed type, sleep schedule, or family arrangement.

Make it real

Pause, point, name what you notice, and connect the idea to something familiar in your child's day. Repetition, a calm voice, shared attention and dependable care matter more than finishing quickly.
