"A fair experiment compares conditions carefully. First, ask a question and make a prediction. Decide what factor will change, what result will be measured, and what important conditions will stay the same. In a ramp test, we might change only the ramp height while using the same car, surface, starting point, and release method. We measure every result and repeat each condition. Results may differ slightly, and an unexpected result is still useful. We report every trial honestly and improve the method when needed. Change one factor, measure the result, repeat, and report every result honestly." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use visible experiment planning and honest results. Avoid right-answer scoring, discarded outliers, dangerous demonstrations, or treating an unsupported prediction as failure.
