What your child will discover

Help the child understand that an address is structured information used to identify a location for delivery, navigation, services, records, and emergency response. Teach that formats differ around the world and that an address is protected personal information. CRITICAL PRIVACY RULE: The page must never request, collect, save, transmit, display, infer, generate, or upload the child’s real address or location.

The spoken lesson

"An address is information that helps identify a home, building, service point, or delivery location. It may include a building number, street, apartment, neighbourhood, city, region, postcode, country, landmark, plot, or another local description. Address formats differ around the world. A physical address and postal address may also be different. An address can help deliver mail or send emergency help, but it is personal information. Share it only with an appropriate helper for a real reason or when your caregiver approves. For websites, games, strangers, or advertisements, say, 'I need to ask my caregiver.'" DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use fictional, unreadable address components and no real data. Avoid country-specific formatting presented as universal, address-entry fields, QR codes, map pins, or public labels.

Make it real

Pause, point, name what you notice, and connect the idea to something familiar in your child's day. Repetition, a calm voice, shared attention and dependable care matter more than finishing quickly.
