What your child will discover

Help the child understand that clothing changes according to heat, cold, rain, wind, sunlight, snow, indoor temperature, and physical activity. Teach simple observation rather than one fixed clothing rule for every country.

The spoken lesson

"Clothes help the body stay comfortable in different weather. On a warm day, light clothing and shade may help. When the air is cool or windy, a sweater or jacket may be useful. Rain clothing helps keep the body dry. In cold weather, several layers can hold warmth and can be added or removed. The caregiver checks the weather and also checks the child. Are you hot, cold, wet, shivering, or sweating? Say or show how you feel. Weather, wind, activity, and wet clothing can all change comfort. Look at the weather, choose layers, and check comfort." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use globally varied climates and ordinary clothing. Avoid product advertising, fashion scoring, skin-colour stereotypes, extreme-disaster weather, or one universal clothing formula.

Make it real

Pause, point, name what you notice, and connect the idea to something familiar in your child's day. Repetition, a calm voice, shared attention and dependable care matter more than finishing quickly.
