"A checkup helps a health professional and caregiver watch growth, development, senses, safety, and general health, even when a child feels well. A vaccine helps the immune system learn how to recognise and fight a particular serious disease. Some vaccines need several doses. Medicine has a specific job, such as preventing, treating, controlling, or relieving a health problem. The correct medicine and amount are chosen for the individual child. Only a responsible adult gives medicine, and medicine is never shared or called candy. Checkups watch health, vaccines prepare defences, and medicine has a specific job."
