Help the child understand that stairs, windows, balconies, decks, furniture, and raised platforms create fall risks. Teach slow movement, secure barriers, and caregiver support.
"Stairs, balconies, windows, furniture, and other high places can cause serious falls. Wait for your caregiver before using stairs. Move one step at a time and use the rail when it is suitable. Do not run, push, or carry large toys on stairs. Stay behind balcony and window barriers. Never climb railings, lean over an edge, or push against a screen. Furniture is not a ladder. Caregivers use secure gates, guards, and furniture anchors. Wait, hold, one step, caregiver close." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use secure barriers and close supervision. Do not include dramatic heights, vertigo effects, falling animation, or climbing challenges.
Pause, point, name what you notice, and connect the idea to something familiar in your child's day. Repetition, a calm voice, shared attention and dependable care matter more than finishing quickly.
