"Some things are near. Near means close to you. Your caregiver may be near enough to touch. A safe toy may be near on the floor. Some things are far. A tree outside may be farther away. A bus on the road may be far from the window. An object can look smaller when it is far away, even though the object has not really become smaller. Caregiver, hold a safe toy nearby. Near. Now move it farther away. Far. Near and far tell us about distance." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use realistic perspective and uncluttered scenes. Avoid rapid zooming, objects flying toward the screen, or motion that could startle the baby. Include reduced-motion support.
