Lesson 048 of 300
Learn how cups hold safe drinks and how to carry and use them without spilling.
Help the child understand that a cup is a container used to hold suitable drinks. Teach simple cup parts, safe carrying, controlled drinking, and what to do after a spill.
"A cup is a container that holds a drink. The top edge is called the rim. Some cups have a handle, and some do not. A caregiver puts a small amount of a suitable drink into the cup. Hold the cup carefully with one or two hands. Bring it slowly to the mouth. Take a small sip. Then place the cup back on the table. We do not run with a cup. Hot drinks and breakable cups belong to adults. If water spills, put the cup down and help the caregiver wipe the spill." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use realistic cup movements, no drinking races, and no reward for finishing. Provide large, simple controls and a clear spill-cleanup demonstration.
Pause, point, name what you notice, and connect the idea to something familiar in your child's day. Repetition, a calm voice, shared attention and dependable care matter more than finishing quickly.
