"A robot is a programmable physical system. Sensors gather selected information about the robot or its surroundings. A controller follows software instructions and may use the sensor information to choose or adjust an action. Actuators create movement, grip, sound, light, or another physical result. Some robots repeat a fixed programme. Some use feedback, artificial intelligence, or direct human control. Robots may work in factories, farms, hospitals, oceans, homes, and space. A robot may speak or have a face, but it is not a person or trusted caregiver. A robot senses, processes instructions, acts physically, and remains a human responsibility." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use real robotic forms rather than one humanoid stereotype. Show the sense-plan-act-check cycle clearly. Avoid robot companions requesting trust, emotional attachment, live control, machinery games, or violent robot imagery.
