Learn that correctly selected and used restraints help protect the body if a vehicle stops suddenly or crashes.
Help the child understand that a car seat, harness, booster seat, or seat belt holds the body in a safer position during travel and sudden movement. Teach that the vehicle does not begin moving until everyone is correctly secured.
"A child restraint helps hold your body in a safer position when a vehicle moves, stops suddenly, or crashes. Your caregiver chooses the correct car seat for your age, size, vehicle, and local rules. The caregiver follows the seat instructions and checks every strap. Sit back in the seat. Keep your arms and body inside the harness. The caregiver closes and checks the buckle. Never open it while the vehicle is moving. Everyone uses the correct restraint on every ride, even a short ride. Correct seat, correct fit, every ride." DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: Use generic restraint designs without implying that every country uses identical hardware. Do not allow the child to practise opening a real buckle. Use no crash animation, fear, or restraint scoring.
Pause, point, name what you notice, and connect the idea to something familiar in your child's day. Repetition, a calm voice, shared attention and dependable care matter more than finishing quickly.
